First Impressions

A first impression always seems like such a small aspect of life, when in fact, it is one of the biggest and most important. Studies have shown that first impressions can considerably affect your income, your career path, and other's perception of your character. I mean, it seems crazy, doesn't it? That we cast such a quick judgement on people through five seconds of eye contact, a handshake, and a greeting of choice by either person. With that being said, here's a guide to a great first impression.

1) Strong eye contact. People will feel connected to you if you look into their eyes.

2) A nice, firm handshake. But not too firm-you don't want to hurt the person's hand.

3) Repeat their back to them. People like to hear their name and the more you say it, the better you can remember it

4) Try to avoid jokes during the first few minutes. There's a chance that it may lack humor and be inappropriate.

5) Speak clearly. People may feel like they are being rude if they have to ask what you said. Thus, annunciate and speak slowly and carefully.

6) Never be the center of attention. People don't like it when other people talk excessively about themselves. Ask about their career and their life. Besides, they'll probably ask you the same after they answer.

7) Have good hygiene. People won't like it if your teeth are yellow and your hair is tousled. So, brush your teeth regularly, use mouthwash, and maintain your hair.

These little things can affect your income, your career path, and other's perception of your character. Use this guide to make great first impressions on directors and label owners to propel your career in music, acting, or film.

I'm out! Thanks for reading!
